It was late April 2004 when two musicians,
and a drummer, met in the unlikely location
of the Weinviertel of Austria, in a forsthaus,
in the forest just outside a small village
called Retz! The rendevou was instigated
by Ukulele-ist Trent Arkleysmith (also
known as Wild Wolf, Strudel and a number
of other less flattering names) he was
also the inhabitant of the previously
mentioned Forsthaus.
Trent and Robert (the almost amazing,
Bertro, Bob) Falkinder first met in 1998,
when Trent, at the time musical director
of Circus Monoxide, actually employed
Robert in his first role as a circus drummer.
Trent left the company two weeks later,
of his own free will. Nevertheless, in
these two weeks the two accused struck
up a bizarre, yet lasting musical and
comical relationship. This was the beginning
of something strange yet wonderful. The
next few years saw them coming together
to work on various projects such as Lunar
Circus, Toaster, and further seasons with
Circus Monoxide.
In 2001 Trent moved to Vienna where he
continued working with world renowned,
music, comedy, juggling duo, The Oskar
and Strudel Show.
In March 2004, through a mutual friend,
also called Roman,
Trent met bassist Roman (The Good Doktor,
Princess Rozza of Switzerland) Britschgi,
at a session in the sound studio of an
art accadamy in Vienna. Roman born and
bred in Obwalden, Switzerland, was forced
to leave his country due to his inability
to be anywhere on time and a general indecisiveness.
Moving to Vienna also gave him the chance
to further his studies as a sculptor.
The very next month, Robert, stranded
in South East Asia by a financially crippled
circus company (he still has the twitch),
on a failed World Overland Tour, with
little more than enough money in his pocket
for a one way ticket to Vienna, accepted
the invitation to be involved in yet another
new project (although nobody quite knew
what it was yet) and boarded a flight
that was to take him to his destiny!
'The best band I have yet seen at
Glastonbury this year.'
